City Terraces – Formal
This project celebrates uncompromising geometry. Here one of the box-lined brick and bluestone pathways runs
from the dining terrace to the garden door of the house, around the corner to the right, and the fountain terrace, around the corner to the left. It creates a long vista, and so needs a focal gesture at the far end: a small boxwood parterre a backed by a ivy-filled planter atop the plinth.
The formality of the layout is happily juxtaposed by the exuberance of the horticulture.
